Jointly organised by Wildlife Reserves Singapore and Pink Apple Pte Ltd, the Safari Zoo Run aims to give runners from all walks of life a unique and memorable experience! Part of the proceeds from the event will also go towards the care of endangered animals at Night Safari and Singapore Zoo.

Here again for the fifth year, the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari will be opening their doors for all avid runners to enjoy the sights of our wildlife exhibits while keeping up with a healthy lifestyle through the run in the parks. Safari Zoo Run 2013 will start in the morning again.

Safari Zoo Run was conceptualised to commemorate the death anniversary of orang utan Ah Meng, one of Singapore’s most adored animal personalities. So put on your running shoes and join us for a fabulous day!

If you are unable to collect your race entry pack personally during the assigned collection days, you may authorize someone to collect it for you.

Your representative will need to produce the following documents in order to collect on your behalf:
• A copy of the runner's identification card for verification
• Your representative’s identification card for recording purposes

No authorization form is required. Your representative’s particulars will be taken down for record purposes.

You may get to the race venue either by:

Public Transport:

From the city, board bus service number 171 to Mandai Road.
Alight at the first bus-stop and transfer to bus service numbers 926 or 927 (operates only on Sundays and Public Holidays).

Private Transport:

From the city, use Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Jurong.
Filter out at Exit 7 of Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE).
Follow the prominent brown signs to the Singapore Zoological Garden.
On a regular day, the journey will take approximately 30 minutes.
There are ample parking lots at the Zoo’s car park. There is no grace period and parking fee is at $4.80 per entry.

General

• Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organisers to ensure the Participants' safety, the Organisers, their Sponsors and their appointed Officials shall not be liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, suffered or otherwise, howsoever arising.


• Completion of the entry form confirms the Participants' agreement to abide by the Rules & Regulations of the Safari Zoo Run 2013.


• The Organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of the run in the event of inclement weather. Should the inclement weather persist after the delay, the Organisers reserve the right to cancel the race without refund of registration fees.


• The Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing with the run to prevent him/her from causing greater harm and injury to himself/herself.


• The Organisers reserve the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Safari Zoo Run 2013, for any publicity purpose.


• The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.

Registration

• The Organisers reserve the right to limit and refuse entries without assigning any reasons thereof.


• Race category or race entry is non-transferable. Participants are strictly not allowed to transfer their race entries to another party or change race categories after their registrations are confirmed. Any request for change of category would be subjected to an administrative fee of $15.


• Participants are not allowed to take part in more than one race categories.


• The Organisers shall not be held responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete entry details.


• Participants below 18 years of age need to seek parental or guardian consent before participating in the event.


• After registration, there will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually take part in the Safari Zoo Run 2013, for any reasons whatsoever. Race Entry Packs not collected by participants will be donated to our appointed charity organization.

Race Entry Pack Collection

• All participants must collect their Race Entry Packs, which include the Race Bib, Event T-Shirt, Race Booklet and other sponsored products during the Race Entry Pack Collection period.


• If participants are unable to collect their Race Entry Pack in person, they may authorise a representative in accordance with the procedure detailed on the Official Website.

• The Organisers reserve the right to to replace any entitlement with products of similar value without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.

• Late collection will not be entertained and the Organisers shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused, due to participants’ inability to collect their Race Entry Packs.

Race

• Participants must wear their allocated bib number at all times during the race. Runners without the allocated bib number will not be allowed to take part in the race.


• Participants, who commence before the actual start time of the race category for which they registered for, will be disqualified. The start time for the respective race categories can be found on the Official Website.


• Participants who do not start within 20 minutes from respective flag off will be disqualified and for safety reasons, may not be allowed to start.


• The Organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the race without any prior notification, in which case, the registration fees are non-refundable.


• Participants must run on the designated path for the entire route. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.


• No pets, or any form of wheel-run objects of transport e.g. inline skates, prams, push cars, shoes with built-in or attached rollers is allowed on the course during the race except official race and medical vehicles.


• For prize winners or potential prize winners, appeals over disputes must be made on-site in person, in a written format, within 30 minutes of the published results on the results notice board on-site or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier. An appeal fee of $50.00 will be payable and refunded should the appeal be successful.

Safety and Medical

• Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/ or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.


• For the safety of participants, runners are advised to run on the designated path throughout the entire route.


• Participants are advised against the consumption of alcohol or stimulants or any kind of drugs within 24 hours of their run.


• Should any participants feel unwell or experience any pain/discomfort in the course of race, they should stop and seek immediate medical attention at designated medical posts.

Child Participants

• There will be no wrist tags for children running alone in Fastest Kid categories. Parents have to pick them up at the holding area near the end point after the race.


• For Run for Kids (1 adult and 1 child) participants, both parent and child have to run together. There will be no holding area.
