About the Race

When is the Safari Zoo Run 2010?
The Safari Zoo Run 2010 is on 6th Feb 2010 (Saturday) at 3.30pm.

Where will the run be held?
The run shall start at the coach bay between Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, and finish at Singapore Zoo.

How many categories are there?

* Best for kids between 9 to 12 yrs old.
For the purpose of age verification, the age of participant shall be taken as on the event day

My kid is too young to complete the 6.2km, is there a shorter route?
Your kid can choose to run either the Night Safari or Zoo route or both.

Can I accompany my kid during the competitive run?
No. You are not allowed to accompany your kid during the competitive run.

How does the organizer determine the top three runners for the competitive kid run?
Competitive winners are based on gun time. The 1st kid who crosses the finishing line is
the champion.

For any dispute and appeal, it must be made on the spot within 30 minutes of the
results announcement.

What time does the run starts?
The run will start at 3.30 pm.

Is there a cut-off time for the run?
Yes. All runners need to complete the run by 1800 hrs.

Do I need to pay for the admission fee into Singapore Zoo and Night Safari?
Zoo-All registered runners can enter Singapore Zoo with their number bib from 2pm
onward on the event day. Any time before 2pm, registered runners need to pay for the admission fee.

Night Safari- All registered runners can enter Night Safari with their number bib only during the run on the event day. However, runners are entitled to 50% discount on Night Safari tickets. Extended to family members and friends upon presenting the bib number on the event day only.

Will I get a certificate upon completion of the run?
No.

Will there be an official photographer?
Yes.

Can I skate or cycle during the run?
No. However, baby strollers are allowed.

Can I bring along my pets?
No. Pets are strictly not allowed inside Singapore Zoo and Night Safari

What is an Entry Pack?
It is an event pack that consists of the following items:

• An exclusive Safari Zoo Run bib number
• An exclusive Safari Zoo Run dry-fit running tee

All participants must collect their Entry Pack at the Race Expo prior to the event day.

What are the sizes for event Tee?

Where and when can I collect the entry pack?
The collection will be held on 30th Jan 2010 (Saturday) and 31th Jan 2010 (Sunday) between 1100 to 2000 hrs at Velocity@Novena square, 238 Thomson Road
Singapore 307683.

Collection of Entry Pack

If you have registered online, you will need to produce the printed confirmation slip/official receipt and your NRIC/Passport to collect your Entry Pack at the Race Expo.
For participants below 18 years of age, you will need to bring the Indemnity Form signed by your parent or guardian if you have not faxed or emailed to us earlier.

Where can I leave my belongings?
There is a baggage deposit area near the starting point. Each participant is entitled to deposit one  bag for free.

* The baggage counter will only receive items that are secured with official issued tags which will be given during the Race Expo.

Whilst maximum care and security are being enforced, the organizer will not be held responsible for any loss or damaged items or delay in retrieving the bags. Please expect delays due to the huge crowd expected.

Will there be course markers along the routes?
Yes, course markers will be available.

What if I am injured during the run or otherwise unable to finish the run?
Participants are to approach the nearest first-aiders or route marshals for assistance.

Is GST included in the registration fee?
Yes. 7% GST is included in the registration fee.

When is the closing date for registration?
The closing date for registration is on Sunday, 10 Jan 2010 at 2359 hrs. No registration will be entertained after this date.

However, the Organising Committee reserves the right to close the registration earlier, should participation rates reach our capacity before the closing date. Therefore, please register early to avoid any disappointment!

How do I know if my entry has been accepted?

For Online Registration:
You will receive a confirmation slip upon successful registration. The system will automatically allocate a unique ID as shown in the confirmation slip.

There is also the Online Entry Confirmation function that you can use to check if you have registered successfully. All you need to do is to key in your NRIC/Passport number after you have been successfully registered.

For Walk-In Registration:
Your serialized registration form will be treated as a confirmation slip. Please bring to the Race Expo for Entry Pack collection.

Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after registration?
No.

Can I make changes to my personal particulars after submitting my registration?
Yes. You will need to send an email to info@safarizoorun.com.sg No amendments can be made after 10th Jan 2010 (Sunday), 2359 hrs.

Participants will not be able to change their

• Date of Birth,
• NRIC,
• Gender

Why I did not receive my confirmation slip despite successful registration or payment?
There could be several reasons:

• Your registration was not successful and therefore the run confirmation slip was not rendered.
• There could have been a wrong email entry at the point of registration hence, the confirmation slip is not being sent to the correct email account.
• The email has been blocked by your mail server and or treated as spam.
• For participant below 18 years of age, he/she has yet to submit his/her indemnity form.

Participants under 18 years of age may fax the indemnity form to +65 6512 1980 or email to fax@safarizoorun.com.sg. Upon submission, the participant will receive his/her confirmation slip via email. This process may take at least 3-5 working days.

If you have tried the above but still fail to receive your confirmation slip, you may email to us at info@safarizoorun.com.sg by providing the following information:

• Name
• NRIC/Passport No.
• Contactable Mobile Number

We will reply to you within 3 to 5 working days. For the safety of the participants, the organizers can only cater to 6000 registered runners.

Transportation

How do I get to the venue?

You may get there either by:
Public Transport
From the city, board bus service number 171 to Mandai Road. Alight at the first bus-stop and transfer to bus service numbers 926 or 927 (operates only on Sundays and Public Holidays).

Private Transport
From the city, use Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Jurong.
Filter out at Exit 7 of Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE).
Follow the prominent brown signs to the Singapore Zoological Garden.
On a regular day, the journey will take approximately 30 minutes.
There are ample parking lots at the Zoo’s car park. There is no grace period and parking fee is at S$3.90 per entry.
